This trend here in Houston has accelerated due to the repeated flooding some neighborhoods have experienced in recent years. People who may not have considered close-in living are now rethinking the large yards and homes that require a good deal of maintenance and have in some cases become uninhabitable due to the severe floods.
The good news here in Houston is that there are an ever increasing array of condos and townhomes that will afford residents the type of walkability they crave. Neighborhoods such as downtown, Midtown, Montrose/Museum District and River Oaks have gorgeous new developments that offer luxury and proximity to shops, restaurants, museums and other fun activities.
My new neighborhood, Museum District, is home to a wide variety of restaurants such as The Pit Room, Ono Poke, and Danton's Seafood. It also boasts some of the finest museums in the country such as The Menil Collection, Rothko Chapel and the Museum of Fine Arts.
